In this interview, Team Plutus Manager at IOHK, Rebecca Valentine talked about the significance of Plutus in the smart contract world and the advantages of using Plutus. Plutus draws from modern language research to provide a safe, full-stack programming environment based on Haskell, the leading purely functional programming language. The accompanying Plutus Playground provides a free environment for testing code. Marlowe is aimed at professionals working in finance who do not have programming skills. Alongside the simplified development language comes Meadow, a web-based tool that helps create and test Marlowe financial smart contracts.
