IOHK PlutusFest 2018 | Duncan Coutts Presentation & Rebecca Valentine Closing Remarks
In this talk, Duncan Coutts, IOHK's Director of Engineering, gave a talk about IOHK's R&D efforts and Rebecca Valentine, Team Plutus Manager, gave a wonderful closing remark to the audience who attended the event. Plutus draws from modern language research to provide a safe, full-stack programming environment based on Haskell, the leading purely functional programming language. The accompanying Plutus Playground provides a free environment for testing code. Marlowe is aimed at professionals working in finance who do not have programming skills. Alongside the simplified development language comes Meadow, a web-based tool that helps create and test Marlowe financial smart contracts. These products will enable banks, businesses and developers to leverage the power of smart contracts with the democratization of Cardano, IOHK’s third-generation blockchain, and the ada cryptocurrency in 2019. Get ready for smart contracts on Cardano, the third-generation blockchain and cryptocurrency. https://plutusfest.io On 11th December 2018, IOHK hosted a public day of presentations and debate with IOHK’s scientists and engineers about Plutus, the programming platform for smart contracts on the Cardano blockchain and Marlowe, the simple smart contracts language for financiers. The sessions during the event introduced Marlowe, the financial smart contracts language designed to be used by financiers; the Plutus Playground for testing code; and Meadow, a web-based tool that helps create and test Marlowe smart contracts. http://bit.ly/2QYIfEz http://bit.ly/2BJyZtK -- See more at: https://iohk.io Get our latest news updates: https://iohk.io/blog/ Meet the team: https://iohk.io/team/ Learn about our projects: http://bit.ly/2QYIfV5 Visit our library: http://bit.ly/2q5kQkd In the press: https://iohk.io/press/ Work with us: http://bit.ly/2zVAB1f
