Taxpayers to foot £350m for NI / GB border, despite promises to business there won't be one
The government has pledged £350m for businesses trading between NI and Great Britain, despite insisting that checks will not be needed between Great Britain and Northern Ireland. Cabinet Minister, Michael Gove announced the investment while on a visit to the province on Friday. Questions have been raised however on why so much is being spent mitigating a border in the Irish Sea, when the government continues to claim no such border will ever exist.
